151 - PPE Fit Testing for the COVID 19 Virus


N95 respirators, surgical facemasks, and PAPRs are regulated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In this course we will go over the advantages and disadvantages of each method used in protecting us from the COVID 19 virus.

If you are planning on implementing the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) into your practice you will need to have a written Respiratory Program, and have your employees be Fit Tested. The person doing the fit testing may be one of your employees who understands the correct way of donning and duffing the PPE and perform the fit tests on the face respirators (N95). This course will go into a respiratory program that includes a fit test for the PPEs.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. Everyday preventive measures such as hand washing and social distancing of six feet or more will help to prevent the spread of the disease.
